When I began our homeschool journey, I didn’t know where to start. Seeing the amazing selection of books at the library, local bookshop, amazon.com, and of course all of the recommended resources from my friends was overwhelming and yet exciting! (I LOVE to read and research).
Where should I begin? Should I begin by finding my own learning style? Finding my teaching style? Finding my children’s learning style? What method was best–Charlotte Mason? Traditional? Classical?
Y’all know what I’m talking about, right?
Well, just when I thought I had it all figured out with my typical first born daughter, I was thrown a curve ball when my second child, who is on the autism spectrum, was to officially begin. It felt as though I was starting from scratch!
Being a homeschool mama can be a challenge. Being a special needs homeschool mama can be a real adventure!
And an adventure it is!
While the resources I read were fantastic in the beginning, something was lacking–as I often say, I found great information in books and on websites, but what I needed most was to learn from real-life mamas who could share their challenges and accomplishments with me.
I’m very excited to announce this brand new e-book coming in just a couple of weeks!
On August 12, Homeschooling Day by Day will officially launch.
This e-book is the collaborate work of eleven women who, like you, are in the trenches, raising and home educating their children
I’m honored to write alongside these amazing contributors, including Bambi Moore, Jacinda Vandenburg, Kasey Norton, Amy Maze, Jill York, Anna Christensen, Richele Mcfarlin, Stephanie Eidson and Heather Bowen, all brought together by the amazing inspiration of Kristy Howard.
Kristy writes:
Together, we want to give you a fresh vision for what homeschooling can be, not just in the glamorous “bigger picture,” but in the very real day by day living.
Throughout the forty chapters of this e-book, we’ll tackle the topics of:
- homeschooling methods
- learning styles
- homeschooling kids with learning disabilities
- homeschooling teenagers, preschoolers, and how to juggle multiple ages
- dealing with insecurity and criticism as a homeschool mom
- how to handle bad attitudes and expectations
- hands on help for lesson planning, keeping up with housework, meals, and so much more!
“Homeschooling Day by Day is an outpouring of Godly encouragement that will sustain you on the dry and weary days. The wisdom in this book will also lead you to the mountain top of great joy in living each day with and for your beautiful children.” – Jamerrill Stewart, Holy Spirit Led Homeschooling
If you’re a homeschool mom in need of a little inspiration, or if you’ve ever considered homeschooling but aren’t quite sure you can do it, Homeschooling Day by Day will encourage and empower you!

This looks really interesting. I have a 9-year-old son with an intellectual disability. He is at the preschool level and it’s been challenging to homeschool him.
